How much does it cost to acquire a C-LOVERS franchise?
The initial investment to acquire a license to operate as a C-LOVERS franchise is $40,000 and is in- tended to cover initial training, support, site selection, development and legal costs associated with the start-up of the restaurant. Total investment will vary from location to location. An estimated range is from $450,000. to $550,000. Amounts vary dramatically depending on many factors including whether it’s a conversion of an existing restaurant or a brand new operation, size of the restaurant in square footage, the cost of construction in the particular market, the local and general economy, the efficiency of the project manager and other key factors. What is the ongoing royalty fee?
There is an ongoing royalty fee of 4% of gross sales. This is the licensing fee for the use of C-LOVERS brand name, proven method of doing business and operating system.
There is a brand development fee of 1.5% of gross sales. Such contribution goes towards development and implementation of advertising, promotions, and in-storepoint-of-sale materials used to promote and build brand recognition of C-LOVERS.
What can I expect for a return on investment?
How much a franchisee makes will vary depending upon your skills and abilities, the competition, interest rates, the economy, inflation, labor and supply costs, lease terms and the marketplace. As we proceed, our franchisees can share their actual numbers with you and we can provide you a template to create your own cash flow projections that take into account the realities of your specific market.
What support is given to a franchisee?
The C-LOVERS Management Team is in place to provide you with the tools and support needed to have your restaurant become the dominant brand in your community. The support starts before the store opens, providing a development team to create the C-LOVERS physical environment. At the same time we train management and staff to deliver the C-LOVERS experience to the customer. Once the store is opened we continue with store visits and consultation to ensure systems and specifications are in place. We provide on-going support in accounting, marketing, menu development, and human resources.
Do I need previous restaurant experience?
No, but of course any experience you may have gained previously in the food service industry will help. More than anything, we are looking for people with sound business sense who embrace our vision and high standards of food quality and customer service. Where one does not have full service restaurant experience we provide additional training. One can also hire key individuals for management.
Will C-LOVERS provide training for me and my people and at what cost?
Our training for you and your staff is thorough and complete. New franchisees and managers work at one of our existing locations as part of the initial training. We then send a “hands on” support opening team to assist in training the staff. Except for travel, accommodation and meals, the cost of training you and your management teams is ours. You will open your restaurant with a great amount of confidence, knowledgeable about the way C-LOVERS do things, backed by a system and people who will help you.
What type of standards do C-LOVERS set?
C-LOVERS has many standards, specifications and procedures regarding interior design, layout, menu, location, recipes, health and safety, food suppliers, product specifications and advertising. All of these standards are intended to create a consistent experience and product to C-LOVERS customer, no matter which CLOVERS location is visited. It is through this uniformity and repetition that the brand is created and reinforced. This protects and builds upon each strategic franchise partner’s investment in the brand.
How long does it take to be approved and build a store?
The Application Process (link) from initial inquiry to C-LOVERS approval will take from three to four weeks. Once your application and restaurant site has received approval from us the time frame to opening day will vary from three to twelve months. A detailed schedule shall be created that fits with the needs and circumstances of your specific location and training needs.
